The Whiskey Creek sheepherder cabins in Granite Chief Wilderness gives us a glimpse of the past and a look at the creations of early Basque culture in the West.  This settlement dates to the early 1900s and includes a main cabin, a storage cabin, and a Basque oven.

This remote area can be reached by hiking from several trailheads, including the 5 Lakes Trail and the Powderhorn Trail.
