This 12-inch hand-forged strap T hinge features a round penny end tip and a sturdy 3mm thickness (just under 1/8 inch). Crafted by a blacksmith, it’s designed as a surface mount hinge ideal for small doors, cabinets, wood boxes, and smaller gates. While robust and handmade, it’s not meant for heavy doors. The beeswax blacksmith finish highlights the iron’s natural beauty but isn’t permanent—waxing or oiling can maintain it, or allow it to develop a charming vintage patina and rust if exposed to moisture.
Features a traditional blacksmith finish that allows the character of the metal to show and allows the metal to rust as desired for a more authentic appearance. If used outside or in damp areas, the item will rust over time. If rust is not desired, the finish can be maintained with a wax or oil, or additional measures may be taken to preserve the appearance.
Phillips head screws included. If you'd like slotted screws for a more traditional look, include a note!
