This heirloom pocket picnic knife is perfect for daily use at home or out in the countryside. It is an authentic Laguiole Corkscrew knife, a traditional 2-piece design handcrafted in the village of Laguiole, France. The corkscrew was added to the original knife in the 1880s to meet the needs of Parisian cafe owners and waiters who wanted to honor their regional heritage. Each knife is entirely handmade by a single craftsman using forged T12 steel, ensuring exceptional quality and pride in every piece. The handle features premium horn tip from domestic cattle, which is the hardest and most durable part of the horn and resists warping over time. This knife features a one-piece forged spring and bee with no soldering, a hallmark of authentic Laguiole craftsmanship. The blade measures 3.25 inches long and 3mm thick. When closed, the knife is 12 cm (4 5/8 inches), and when open it extends to 21.7 cm (8 5/8 inches). It weighs just 3 ounces. Included with your purchase are the pocket knife, a gift box, and a Forge de Laguiole Certificate of authenticity.
