This door knocker is fairly large and has a traditional blacksmith beeswax coating that allows the iron's character to show.  If used in damp environments, the wax finish will eventually allow the iron to rust and develop additional patinas over time.  It can be maintained with an oil or wax finish or allowed to rust as desired.  Measures 6-1/2"H.  The ring is approximately 5-1/2" in diameter.  The mounting plate is 2-3/4" square.  Ring is approximately 5/8" thick.  Each knocker is hand made and may vary slightly.  Includes a nail in striker. May have excess wax that removes fairly easily.



Features a traditional blacksmith finish that allows the character of the metal to show and allows the metal to rust as desired for a more authentic appearance. If used outside or in damp areas, the item will rust over time. If rust is not desired, the finish can be maintained with a wax or oil, or additional measures may be taken to preserve the appearance.
